Consistent training under Dr. Bala has helped me to improve my running coordination, fitness level, discipline and also understand the mechanics of running. No regrets with picking up running as a lifelong sport!

I have been training under Dr. Bala for over 6 years. Under him, I have run my best timings, which I never thought I would be able to meet previously. He gives me the courage and determination to run stronger and faster. I also completed my first marathon (2015) in 3.48hrs, which is an incredible timing for me. Here are my personal best timings for the following events:
800m: 2.37mins (Singapore National Games)
1500m: 5.22mins (Malaysia Open)
3000m: 12.05mins (SAA Series)
5000m: 20.54mins (on track, Vietnam Open)
5000m: 20.14mins (road race, MOE Olive Run)
10 000m: 44.03mins (on track, Philippines Open)
10 000m: 41.23mins (road race, Run 350)
Half Marathon: 1.40.53hrs (Standard Chartered, 2014)
Full Marathon: 3.48hrs (Standard Chartered, 2015)
He teaches me values and moulds me to what I am today. He is always patient and always willing to guide me whenever I need help. With him, I am a better individual, stronger, tougher and resilient runner. All these values have transcended into my daily living and work. I am able to focus and perform better in my races and work. Despite having faced numerous setbacks, he taught me perseverance and to keep on fighting in life. I will not be able to find another coach like him. It is my greatest honour to be training under him, and now representing Cougars Athletic Association, to give back to the society.
